How to remove Eye Makeup

It is important for the health of your skin to remove any makeup before going to bed each night. Leaving makeup on your skin overnight can clog your pores, leading to acne. Leaving eye makeup on overnight can result in the makeup getting into your eye, causing irritation and possibly infection. Removing eye makeup can be one of the more tricky areas of the face, as the skin around your eyes is the most sensitive.
Olive Oil. Olive oil is an excellent, natural way to remove eye makeup and to condition the lashes.
Directions: Soak a cotton ball with olive oil and wipe over eye area to remove makeup. Remove excess olive oil with a warm, damp washcloth. For a more luxurious experience, slightly warm the olive oil before applying.
Vaseline has also traditionally been used to remove eye makeup.
Directions: Apply a small amount over the eye area using your fingers. Use a damp, warm wash cloth to remove the Vaseline and eye makeup. Eye makeup comes off quickly and easily using this method.
OR
Take a cotton swab. Q-tips are great for this. Wet the end of the swab with warm water. Make sure that its not soaking wet, but not barely wet, either.
Rub a little bit of vaseline on the swab. Never use soap because if it gets in your eye then it wil REALLY burn you.

Very gently run the swab over the eyeliner. It should turn the color of your eyeliner. If you continue to use this swab, it will leave smeary remains of your eyeliner. Therefore, you need to do steps 1-4 with another end of the swab until the eyeliner is completely removed. Make sure you never reuse a dirty Q-tip; this smears, and can irritate your eyes. |

After removing the eyeliner, it’s always best to wash your face with a gentle facial wash.
Pat your face dry with a soft towel, and apply a light lotion. Lubriderm SPF 15 works very well, or a similar sorbolene based lotion. Make sure you always apply lotion, or your skin can feel very tight and dry.
Or simply wash your face and apply a cleansing lotion over the eyeliner place and gently rub it until it disappears.
